I arrived with my girlfriend and left with my fiancée, and the team went above and beyond to make the occasion truly unforgettable. A very special thank you to Pierre, Director of Front of House, whose care and attention to detail were exceptional. He helped me bring all the elements of the proposal together, even arranging for the pianist to learn the theme from The White Lotus for the occasion. Having someone take such a personal interest in getting everything right made an enormous difference. Together with Pepe, the Restaurant Director, Pierre also arranged for us to dine at Marilyn Monroe’s table in the Polo Lounge. Being personally welcomed and ushered to that special table felt genuinely first class and set the scene beautifully. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were fantastic, and the atmosphere could not have been more perfect. The generosity and thoughtfulness extended throughout our stay: a room upgrade, anniversary sweets and champagne on arrival, a cabana gifted by the hotel to celebrate our engagement, and celebratory pastries and a fruit platter from the restaurant manager at breakfast. The pool team also treated us to a glass of champagne. Each gesture made us feel thoroughly spoilt, but it was the warmth with which everything was offered that really stayed with us. What touched us most was how many members of staff recognised us as the couple who had just got engaged and took the time to congratulate us. It felt as though the whole hotel was sharing in our happiness, rather than simply looking after a reservation. The setting is iconic, but it is the people who made this stay so special. Heartfelt thanks to Pierre, Pepe and everyone who helped create such wonderful memories. We could not have chosen a more perfect place to begin this next chapter together. ### LCR Coin in the last week · 1.0/5 When we opened the minibar refrigerator immediately after checking in, an old, foul-smelling tuna sandwich and its container fell onto the floor, splattering liquid. It took multiple calls and a message to the manager before someone came to help. The employee initially seemed to think we had caused the mess, until a supervisor acknowledged that the refrigerator had not been checked during cleaning. We received a $250 credit. The rest of the room was also unacceptable for a hotel at this price: a stained pillow, torn fabric on the headboard, debris on the bench, a television cabinet caked with dust, and a desk lamp with exposed wiring. Dinner at The Polo Lounge offered a wonderful atmosphere and people-watching, but the food and service were mediocre. Our entrées took about an hour, the lobster risotto was soupy and tasted mostly like tomato sauce, and my linguine and clams lacked flavor. At these prices, the food should be exceptional. The most alarming failure occurred at checkout. We had rented a black Jeep Wagoneer, and the valet brought a black Wagoneer to the entrance. We got inside and began preparing to leave. I immediately found an open bag of Goldfish crackers in the door. The valet took it from my hand, and my husband assumed we must not have noticed it when we rented the vehicle. I was certain it had not been there. I then found someone else’s CVS receipt in the center console. At that point, I became concerned that someone had used our rental car overnight. We began driving away, only to see the valet employee chasing after us. We stopped and rolled down the window, and he told us, “I gave you the wrong car.” The valet had handed us another guest’s vehicle and allowed us to get inside and begin driving away. Because it was a rental car rather than our personal vehicle, the mistake was not immediately obvious. Had we not stopped when we saw the employee running after us, we could have driven away in another guest’s vehicle—with whatever belongings, documents, or personal information may have been inside it. Meanwhile, the other guest could presumably have been given access to ours. This was not a minor mix-up; it was a serious security and safety failure. The staff was generally friendly, and the personalized welcome card and turndown service were thoughtful. However, those touches cannot make up for a dirty, worn room, unsafe wiring, an old tuna sandwich in the refrigerator, and being handed the keys to another guest’s vehicle. We spent approximately $2,000 for what was supposed to be a bucket-list stay. Instead, we received a dirty, poorly maintained room and were nearly sent away in someone else’s vehicle. Our overall experience was shockingly poor and nowhere near the standard—or price—associated with The Beverly Hills Hotel. ### len ferrer in the last week · 5.0/5 Seasonal allergies started to be more of a problem inside the house so I called for duct cleaning so I could get rid of any debris that had been built up inside the ducts.
