This evening, which was meant to be a pleasant one, was salvaged, but not by the staff of the Trulli restaurant in Gelsenkirchen.
We reserved a table at 6:30 p.m. and, at 7:10 p.m., hungry and, above all, thirsty, especially given the current temperatures, left the restaurant empty-handed.
The owner's arrogance is beyond belief, and the staff is equally unfriendly and incompetent.
After a full 20 minutes, we received the menu, a small bowl of olives and pepperoni, and a scoop of herb butter. Then nothing happened... The staff ran around like a bunch of startled chickens, and the owner leisurely cleared a few tables.
It's important to note that the restaurant was empty inside, with perhaps 20 to 30 guests sitting outside. The total staff consisted of 4 to 5 servers plus the owner, which seemed like a fairly adequate team considering the number of customers.
The owner's arrogance was unacceptable. After 40 minutes, we at least had a few olives and some herb butter left, but then we just ran out of patience…
All in all, I can't even give this one star, but unfortunately, I can't post a zero-star rating, and of course, I'll refrain from recommending it to anyone…
We booked a table on Friday for Saturday at 6:30 pm.
But as expected, no one seemed to care about us.
The staff were unfriendly and annoyed.
The menu was simply thrown on the table.
There was no greeting, no one asked if we wanted anything to drink, and when we inquired, we were given the runaround. Then, after half an hour, we were finally brought olives and herb butter.
Of course, the bread rolls were forgotten.
After almost an hour, we got up and left the restaurant.
Apparently, no one cares. This has happened so often now that we've decided to never go there again. The food isn't always consistent either; often it lacks flavor.
