The platform is only about a three-minute walk from the stadium, making it a particularly useful option for football matches, concerts, stadium tours, and other major events. That short final stretch can save considerable time compared with the longer walk associated with the better-known Old Trafford tram stop. Although its name does not include Trafford, Wharfside is one of those local transport points that rewards a little advance planning. Visitors who know where to get off can avoid some of the heaviest foot traffic around the main stadium stop while still arriving close to the action. On match days, that can mean a simpler arrival and an easier departure, particularly for anyone traveling with family, carrying event gear, or trying to connect with another tram. Wharfside also makes onward travel around Greater Manchester straightforward. Trams from this stop connect with the Trafford Centre and Manchester city centre, with routes toward MediaCity and Piccadilly available through the wider network and transfers where needed. That makes it useful beyond stadium visits: shoppers, commuters, venue staff, and visitors exploring the nearby business and leisure districts can all benefit from its position. Located in Trafford Park, Stretford, the stop is a smart choice when proximity matters. Look for **Wharfside tram station** on your itinerary before setting out, especially if Old Trafford is your destination. With a short walk to the stadium, access to popular destinations, and a reputation as a quieter alternative, Wharfside is a highly practical transport link for match-day travelers and anyone moving through this busy part of Manchester. ## Listing information - **Listing type:** Service - **Category:** Matchday, Matchday Places, Premier League Matchday Places - **Feature:** Near Stadium, Walkable to Stadium - **Region:** Manchester - **Address:** Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 1EX, UK - **Coordinates:** 53.466358, -2.2878789999999998 - **Rating:** 4.4/5 (17 reviews) ## Booking - **Booking available:** No - **Booking type:** Single Day ## Owner - **Name:** Gavin Smith - **Profile:** https://soccertravelhub.com/author/gavin/ ## Google reviews - **Google rating:** 4.4/5 (17 reviews) ### H Kondo 4 months ago · 5.0/5 This is the closest station to Old Trafford from Manchester city center.
