Planerts is a spacious restaurant with large windows, grey walls, high ceilings and exposed metal ceiling features, giving it a contemporary industrial feel. The open kitchen is a nice feature, while the tables are well spaced, with bookshelves along the sides and some banquette seating.
The lunch menu offers three courses, although starters, mains and desserts can also be ordered individually. There is a nice wine selection.
Service was pleasant and efficient, with just one server managing the restaurant. Despite being on their own, they did a good job, although service was somewhat functional, with attention mainly when required.
The food was enjoyable overall. The salad starters was good, light and had some interesting ingredients while the main of pork belly with cabbage, Chinese mushrooms and a slab of potato was particularly nice, accompanied by a curry sauce that brought the dish together.
Dessert was less impressive. The brioche with mango strips and two scoops of ice cream, coconut and another flavour, was acceptable but nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, a pleasant dining experience in a contemporary setting, with good food, a nice wine selection and friendly, efficient service.
A very original restaurant with an informal atmosphere and a unique open kitchen. We dined almost right in the kitchen, so you can see everything clearly. The dishes were delicious, with plenty of meat. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with the wine selection. Highly recommended! AAA
