The City Ground in West Bridgford is a landmark football stadium in Nottingham and the much-loved home of Nottingham Forest. Set beside the River Trent, it offers a classic matchday setting filled with history, character, and the unmistakable energy of English football. Whether you are a lifelong supporter, visiting from overseas, or attending your first fixture, the ground makes it easy to feel part of something larger from the moment you arrive.
The atmosphere is the main attraction. Supporters bring remarkable passion and constant vocal support, creating a historic football atmosphere that stays with you long after the final whistle. Chants roll through the stands, the crowd responds to every important moment, and even a preseason friendly can feel genuinely magical. For many visitors, the sense of community and shared excitement is just as memorable as the action on the pitch.
First-time visitors will find friendly staff on hand to help with directions and seating, making the venue welcoming for both local fans and international guests. Arriving 30 to 40 minutes before kickoff is a sensible choice, especially if you want time to find your seat, enjoy food and drinks, or avoid the busiest halftime queues. Some seating areas are unsheltered, so checking the forecast and bringing suitable clothing is worthwhile in wet weather. With its passionate supporters, enduring character, and superb football matchday experience, The City Ground is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of the game in Nottingham.

in the last week5/9 v Spurs I would like to register my disappointment that again, this season, I am unable to see a tv screen from my seat in the Upper John Robertson Stand due to the dip in the roof blocking off the view of the screen located in the stand. Historically we could watch the screen located between The Brian Clough Stand and The Trent End but this was relocated following the installation of corporate hospitality in that corner. In today’s game, there was a crucial VAR decision leading to the disallowed Forest goal and I was unable to see the replay of the incident. I also miss out on the pre match entertainment that I used to enjoy. I have raised this issue on more than one club feedback questionnaire, but to no avail. I do think that fans in the area I sit are being short changed in the entertainment that others in the ground receive. 19/9 v Coventry Today there are still no tv screens I can properly see. I could hear people around me saying, ‘ Tell us what is going on’ when the VAR of Forests disallowed equaliser was being looked at. We now have additional LED screens installed from today which appear to largely duplicate the advertising on the existing LED screens. Is a tv screen for Upper John Robertson stand fans really too much to ask for?
