Reserved a table online for 4 people, no waiting and tables were available inside and out.
Ordered our food, one starter and 4 main meals. My starter was local Tomatoes with a mini burrata, it was delicious but I waited over an hour for that. The other 3 people in my group were hungry. As I finished my starter the waitress asked if we would like to proceed with the main courses. After a further 30 minutes I asked the other waitress how much longer our food would be, she came back to tell us that the kitchen had not actually been updated but that it would be as quick as possible. After a further 15 minutes our food arrived. I had to ask for cutlery as mine had been taken away with my starter plate. We had to chase up the salad that should have been served with my husbands meal and also the potatoes that should have been with mine. The food was delicious without question. Really good. But the waiting time was just ridiculous!!
We were then offered deserts on the house. We took two deserts and two coffees.
This was our second visit as we were so impressed the first time , we were there in June. This time was totally different, new faces, which was offered as an explanation when I asked why everything was taking so long.
All in all a bit of a disappointment. Good food doesn’t always make up for poor timekeeping and service

Die gesamte Erfahrung war einfach wunderbar – von der schönen Atmosphäre bis hin zum freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl und herzlich willkommen. Es ist genau so ein Ort, der einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlässt und bei dem man gerne wiederkommt.
Wer in Paderborn einen besonderen Ort mit einer tollen Atmosphäre und echter Gastfreundschaft sucht, sollte **Die Akelei unbedingt besuchen!** 🌸✨

Michelin-starred dining in a relaxed atmosphere! Here you get Michelin-star-quality food, but in a wonderfully relaxed setting. Absolutely delicious and laid-back. The dishes are simple, but prepared on another level – the schnitzel alone is out of this world!
