in the last weekI had a wonderful stay at The Lowry Hotel. The room was spacious, modern and very comfortable, with beautiful views of the river and city. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. I also enjoyed the restaurant and relaxing atmosphere. Its location by the River Irwell is perfect for exploring Manchester and Salford.

in the last weekGreat hotel, well located, modern decor. We stayed several nights with my children. The rooms are clean and spacious, the snack bar and in-room minibar are very well stocked with chocolate, honey, chips, popcorn... (a "first use" label on the honey would be a nice touch). The à la carte and buffet breakfasts were very good and varied; we thoroughly enjoyed them. A big thank you to Blandine for the French touch; she was very welcoming and helpful, as were Tasha, Scarlet, and Aaron. Thanks also to Mouloud from the concierge for his warm welcome and kindness towards the children, and also to the spa girl (a blonde, I've forgotten her name) who was very welcoming and helpful. The only slight drawback was the wait time to find my reservation, but this was quickly made up for by the luggage concierge and the lounge. A great stay at the Lowry Hotel!

a week agoReally disappointing for a hotel marketed as five-star. The whole stay was let down by lots of things that individually might seem minor, but together gave the impression of a hotel where basic standards and attention to detail just aren't what they should be. Sleep was disrupted by an extremely bright green light on the smoke detector directly above the bed, which flashed repeatedly throughout the night. Housekeeping was inconsistent, service was lacking, and even basic maintenance seemed poor — including locks in the bar toilets not working properly. Staff were pleasant enough, but the service simply wasn't at the level you'd expect from a hotel of this supposed standard. For the price, there were far too many shortcomings. It felt surprisingly shoddy in places and nowhere near a five-star experience. Wouldn't return.

a week agoIf you enjoy sleeping, I wouldn't recommend staying here. There is a smoke/fire detector directly above the bed with an extremely bright green light that flashes roughly every 30 seconds throughout the night. It seriously disrupted my sleep for the first three nights of my stay. I actually went out and bought us eye masks to try to deal with it before eventually complaining. When I did raise it, I was told that numerous other guests had complained about the same lights that night. Despite that, the manager commented that I was “obviously a light sleeper” and particularly sensitive to light, which felt unnecessarily dismissive of what was clearly not an issue unique to me. To their credit, the hotel eventually covered the lights for me, which completely resolved the problem. There were smaller service issues too. An Amazon parcel delivered to the hotel — which happened to be an additional eye mask because of the flashing light — still hadn't reached me nine hours later and I had to chase it down at reception. Towels were also missing after my room was serviced. What disappointed me most was the response overall. After explaining that my sleep had been badly affected for three nights, there was no gesture or acknowledgement beyond eventually covering the lights — and nobody even asked how my stay had been when I checked out. Not the experience I expected from a five-star hotel.
