Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South is a great fit for travelers who want the energy of Manhattan without giving up a quiet place to recharge. Set in New York City near Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Port Authority, Broadway, and Times Square, this hotel makes getting around feel simple from the moment you arrive. Guests frequently point out the helpful staff, smooth check-in, and thoughtful touches like luggage storage, early check-in when available, and rooms equipped with a fridge and microwave for longer stays or quick visits.
What stands out most is how well this property balances convenience and comfort. Many guests describe the rooms as clean, cozy, and surprisingly quiet, even with the busy surrounding neighborhood. It’s the kind of place that works especially well for a last-minute trip, a short business stay, or a theater weekend, with easy access to transit and dining nearby. If you’re searching for a Times Square hotel that feels practical, welcoming, and well placed for sightseeing or commuting, this one delivers a very solid stay.
Customers appreciate the hotel's convenient location, which is close to Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and subway stations, offering easy access to major attractions while avoiding the hustle and bustle.
Guests find the rooms to be small, as expected in New York City, but comfortable, with particularly high praise for the beds being more comfortable than those in many other hotels.
The front desk staff receive compliments for their friendliness and helpfulness, providing assistance whenever needed.
The inclusion of a fridge and microwave in the rooms is noted positively, as some hotels in the city lack these amenities.
Some guests mention that noise from police sirens and horns can be heard throughout the night, which may disturb light sleepers.
There are occasional reports of cleanliness issues, such as stained towels and unclean sheets, which detract from the overall experience.

in the last weekThe location is great, youre close to Times Square without being in the chaos that is Times Square. Youre also close to Madison Square garden and subways. The room: They are what youd expect a hotel room would be like in New York City, which is small but comfortable . The bed is really comfortable also , better than a lot of Marriotts ive stayed in. Has a fridge and microwave (i learned some hotels in this city dont have that ) . The staff :The front desk staff was really nice , and offered a lot of assistance if I had a question . Now the bad things : one of my towels had a yellow stain on it like it was used to clean up pee and it stained, I just didnt use that towel obviously , luckily there were 3 other towels i can use . I wouldnt call it "bad " but just know if youre high up (I was on the 23rd floor ) I had my thermostat set at 70 and I was freezing. Also , you can hear all the police sirens and horns throughout the night . That has nothing to do with the hotel , but light sleepers will be annoyed . It wasnt a bad stay , I chose this hotel for the location and the price was understandable . I typically stay at Marriotts due to my high status with bonvoy however im glad I chose this hotel.
