Bidlabu is a polished bistro and restaurant in Frankfurt am Main that focuses on thoughtful cooking, attentive service, and a tasting-style experience with plenty of character. Guests appreciate the changing menus, the choice between animal and vegetarian courses, and the opportunity to enjoy up to seven beautifully presented dishes. The kitchen clearly takes pride in layering flavors, with reviewers especially impressed by the duck, desserts, and the way each course brings something new to the table.
The atmosphere feels professional and calm, and many diners enjoy being able to watch the kitchen at work while they eat. Staff are described as welcoming and knowledgeable, with strong wine suggestions that complement the menu nicely. This is the kind of place that suits guests who enjoy a more curated meal and do not mind a lively room; it can get noisy and intimate, but that also adds to the energy of the evening.
Located on Kleine Bockenheimer Straße near the city center, Bidlabu is a great choice for fine bistro dining, creative menus, and a memorable night out in one of Frankfurt’s most stylish food neighborhoods.

a week agoWe went there for lunch. The service was really great and very attentive, and the food was fantastic! We had a table outside, and despite the 32 degrees Celsius, it was very pleasant in the alleyway with a light breeze. It was a really lovely experience, and we'll definitely be back!

a week agoFood is ok. Nothing exceptional. Wine pairing is ok. Service is clinical: spend €175 per person and then get told at the end of the meal that they need the table back asap

a week agoOverall, I enjoyed the restaurant; despite its Michelin star, it's very casual and uncomplicated. Unfortunately, the seating is very close together, and the noise level is correspondingly quite high. We opted for the six-course menu. There's a vegetarian option and one with fish and meat. Both cost the same, which I don't quite understand. I found the food generally tasty to very good, although there were a few exceptions. The fish course, for example, was oversalted. The textures of the individual dishes are very repetitive. Practically every dish has a foam that always tastes similar. We enjoyed the amuse-bouche the whole excellent bread course, the first course with peach, tomato salad, and tuna, as well as the vegetable course with miso eggplant the most. I found the meat and fish courses tasty, but nothing special, and the same goes for the corresponding vegetarian courses. The apricot dessert, on the other hand, was very good, as was the sour cherry jelly at the end.
