Cowshed Liverpool

Great food. Had the fillet special. Red wine gravy was superb, chips were top notch. Steak was great. Just great food done well. Nothing too fancy. Loved it.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Staff were really friendly and attentive. We had the Greedy Cow for 2 which was a flat iron, ribeye and rump with 2 sides and 2 sauces. The steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The sides we had were savory cabbage with a chorizo cream, fries and I added bone marrow. All were amazing. Especially the cabbage. The sauces were pepper sauce and a bearnaise that was a revelation. From start to finish we had a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back when we next visit Liverpool. 10/10

First visit to The Cowshed 🥩 We tried the Greedy Cow sharing plate for two, which was a great selection of beef and a really good way to sample a few different cuts the flat iron was delicious. The meat was excellent quality and cooked to perfection. Everything was really tasty, but the creamy chorizo cabbage and the Béarnaise sauce (which I’d not had before) were particular highlights for me. Our only slight criticism was that the food seemed to get cold quite quickly, which was a shame as everything was so good otherwise and it would have been nice to savour for longer. Overall, a really enjoyable first visit and we’d definitely return next time we’re in Liverpool!

The Cowshed offers high quality food with excellent service. We visited as a group of four and got the greedy cow option and several sides. Every dish was excellent and the steaks were tasty and great quality. Servers were attentive and friendly.

Had a night out with friends at Cowshed Liverpool and really enjoyed it. The place itself has a lovely, homely feel. It looks like a converted house or apartment, so it feels more like having dinner at someone's home than sitting in a typical restaurant. That made for a relaxed, cosy evening and a nice change from the usual city centre spots. I went for the rump steak, cooked medium rare. It came out exactly how I asked for it, pink and tender in the middle with a really good char on the outside that brought out a lovely smoky flavour. Every bite was juicy, which isn't always the case with rump, so credit to the kitchen for getting the cooking just right. The black pepper sauce was a great addition. It had a nice warmth and kick to it, rich enough to complement the steak but not so heavy that it masked the flavour of the meat. The rocket greens on the side were fresh and peppery, and they balanced the richness of the steak and sauce really well. The service was amazing from start to finish. The staff were friendly, attentive and made our group feel genuinely welcome, which really added to the whole experience. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be the portion size. For the price, it felt a little on the smaller side and I left wanting a bit more. A slightly bigger cut or a more generous side would make it feel like better value overall. Overall, great food, brilliant service and a really unique setting. I'd happily come back, and it's definitely worth a visit if you're after a good steak and a relaxed night out in Liverpool.
