Run down , lots of balaclava clad people on ebikes and people who run into shops and shoplift .... Shoplifting seems to have become a town sport here recently.... The town centre is pretty much now never worth visiting... Lived here all my life and it's gone downhill massively... If you come for the football that's great but don't expect much of the town centre.
This station has improved over the years. Great Eastern new trains and the spacious carpark. For the size of the town the station has adequate services and facilities. However the dropoff area could have been better planned with the redesign some years back. Fast frequent connections to London, Bury and Cambridge. Good connection with the A12/A14 although a northern bypass would really serve the county town well, specially with the largest port round the corner in Felixstowe.
Had a number of issues with wrong parking tickets from the third party when the cameras weren't functioning as expected.
Overall Ipswich is a great place compared to many towns and cities I've travelled to. Streets are reasonably kept and tidy, and people always helpful.
