How to Buy MLS Tickets Safely: Supporter Sections, Mobile Tickets, Club Accounts and Verified Resale
A low ticket price does not automatically mean a safe purchase. MLS tickets are often managed through mobile delivery, club accounts and official transfer systems, so the seller and delivery method matter as much as the seat itself.
Season Ticket Member access, Supporter Sections, Away Sections, Parking Passes and Premium packages all follow different rules. Before planning a trip, confirm where the ticket comes from, how it will reach you and what you need to show at the stadium.
Start with the MLS travel hub, then verify the current ticket information on the club's official website. The safest process is based on evidence inside an official account, not a screenshot sent through social media.
Start with the official MLS club page
The safest place to begin is the official website of the club you want to watch. Look for pages labelled Tickets, Single Match, Membership, Premium, Hospitality or Manage Tickets. The exact ticketing platform can vary between clubs and stadiums, so do not assume that the same website is official for every MLS team.
Ticketmaster, SeatGeek or another major platform may be legitimate when the club links to it directly. The important question is not simply whether the platform is well known. It is whether the ticket page can be traced back to the club, stadium or authorised ticketing partner.
Check the official route
Type the club address yourself or use a verified link from the club website. Do not rely only on a social-media advertisement or a search result.
Confirm the stadium
Check the exact venue, city and event name. Some MLS clubs share large venues or use different grounds for special fixtures.
Understand the ticket account
Confirm whether the ticket will appear in an official app, club account, mobile wallet or approved transfer system.
For stadium and travel planning, compare the MLS Stadium Listings and the city information for Los Angeles, Seattle and Atlanta. These pages help with location and matchday planning, but the club's current ticket terms remain the final authority.
What do MLS ticket terms mean?
MLS ticket pages often use American sports and venue terminology. Knowing the difference between a mobile ticket, a club account and a Parking Pass can prevent a surprisingly expensive mistake.
| Term | Usually means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Season Ticket Member | A person with a season-ticket membership or package. | Membership does not mean every match ticket can be freely borrowed or transferred. |
| Single-Match Ticket | A ticket for one specific game. | Confirm the opponent, venue, date and seat location. |
| Supporter Section | An active home-support area. | Standing, chanting, flags and special entry rules may apply. |
| Away Section | An area intended for visiting supporters. | Access may be restricted to eligible away fans. |
| Mobile Ticket | A ticket delivered to a phone, app or official account. | Check whether an account, app or mobile wallet is required. |
| Dynamic Barcode | A barcode that may refresh or change. | A screenshot may not scan or may no longer be valid. |
| Verified Resale | A resale listing inside an approved ticketing system. | Make sure the listing is within the official club or authorised partner account. |
| Parking Pass | Permission to park in a designated venue area. | A Parking Pass usually does not include admission to the match. |
| Premium / Hospitality | A higher-priced package with additional services. | Confirm the seller, seat area, inclusions and dress requirements. |
| Student / Youth Ticket | A discounted ticket for an eligible customer. | Proof of age or student status may be required at entry. |
Home tickets, Supporter Sections and Away Sections
A home ticket is not automatically a neutral ticket. Some home areas are quiet seated sections, while others are built around singing, flags, drums and coordinated support. The ticket price alone will not tell you what the experience will be like.
Check the seating context
Follow the club's rules on colours, behaviour and transfers. A home-area ticket may not be suitable for openly supporting the visiting team.
Expect an active environment
This area may include standing, continuous chanting, flags or limited sightlines during parts of the match. Visitors with children should check the club's description first.
Check supporter eligibility
Away tickets may be restricted to visiting supporters, club members or customers with an existing ticket history.
Do not buy an Away Section ticket and assume that you can move into a home section. The same applies in reverse. Stadium staff may enforce section rules, and a valid barcode does not guarantee access to every part of the venue.
Parking also needs separate confirmation. A Parking Pass may be delivered through a different account or may apply only to a particular lot and arrival time. It should never be treated as proof that you have a match ticket.
Season Ticket Members and club accounts
A Season Ticket Member is connected to a club membership or season-ticket package. That person may have access to priority sales, ticket management, transfers or official resale. None of these benefits automatically gives another person the right to use the account.
The safest transfer normally happens inside the official ticket account. The original owner selects the ticket, enters the recipient details and completes the club's transfer process. A message saying “I will send you the barcode later” is not the same thing.
- Do not ask for or use another person's club login details.
- Do not enter a password or verification code on a link sent through a private message.
- Check whether the ticket is tied to the original buyer's name.
- Confirm whether the transfer can be completed to an international phone number or email address.
- Keep the official transfer confirmation after the ticket moves into your account.
Mobile Tickets and Dynamic Barcodes
Mobile delivery is one of the most important differences between an official MLS ticket and an informal resale offer. The ticket may need to be opened through the club's app, a stadium app or an authorised ticketing account.
A Dynamic Barcode may refresh at intervals or become active only shortly before entry. That is why a screenshot can fail even when it looks genuine. A forwarded image may also have been cancelled, transferred to another account or used already.
You can open the ticket, see the match details and follow the club's transfer or wallet instructions.
The image may be copied, expired, cancelled or connected to a different customer account.
Before leaving for the stadium, log in while you still have a reliable internet connection. Charge your phone, confirm the ticket has loaded and check whether the venue allows screenshots, Apple Wallet, Google Wallet or only the official app.
How to recognise an MLS ticket scam
Most ticket scams create urgency. The seller claims that there is only one seat left, that the price will disappear soon or that the transfer must happen immediately. Take that pressure as a reason to slow down and verify the purchase.
The price is much lower than comparable official or verified-resale tickets.
The seller accepts only Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, cryptocurrency or bank transfer.
The seller sends only a PDF, screenshot, QR code or chat history.
The seller refuses to use the official ticket-transfer function.
The listing does not explain whether the seat is home, Supporter Section or Away Section.
The seller claims that a Dynamic Barcode can simply be forwarded as an image.
The seller asks for your club password, verification code or complete account details.
A Parking Pass is presented as if it includes admission to the match.
Be careful with Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp and informal supporter groups. A genuine fan may be selling a real ticket, but the platform itself does not prove that the ticket can be transferred or that the seller is authorised.
What to check after buying
An email saying that payment was successful is not the final entry check. Open the official account and confirm that the ticket is attached to the correct match and can be accessed by the person who will attend.
- Official order number and purchase email.
- Club or authorised ticketing account.
- Buyer or recipient name.
- Match, opponent, venue and local kick-off time.
- Section, Row and Seat information.
- Whether the ticket is in a Supporter Section or Away Section.
- Mobile ticket and Dynamic Barcode status.
- Whether the ticket can be transferred or resold.
- Parking Pass details, if purchased separately.
- Stadium entry gate, bag policy and identification requirements.
Do not book your whole trip too early
MLS travel can involve flights, rental cars, parking reservations and long distances between cities. If the ticket or match time is not secure, avoid making every part of the trip non-refundable.
Confirm club, opponent, venue and local date.
Single match, membership, hospitality or verified resale.
Account, mobile ticket, section, gate and parking.
Flights, transport and cancellable accommodation.
Once the ticket route is clear, compare the MLS Hotels Listings and check the complete route to the stadium. A hotel near the airport may be useful for an early flight, while a downtown base may offer better matchday transport and food options.

MLS match dates can change
MLS fixtures can be affected by television scheduling, Leagues Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup, the U.S. Open Cup, national-team windows and venue conflicts. NFL games, university sports and concerts can also affect stadium availability.
Weather can create another layer of uncertainty. High heat, thunderstorms and lightning protocols may affect the timing of a match or the movement around the stadium. Always check the club's latest match information before travelling.

MLS ticket buying FAQ
Does a Season Ticket Member guarantee access to a match ticket?
No. A Season Ticket Member may receive priority access, account benefits or resale options, but the membership itself is not the same as a valid ticket for a specific match.
Is a Supporter Section suitable for children?
It depends on the club and section. Some areas involve standing, loud chanting, flags and constant movement. Families should read the club's current section description before buying.
Can visitors buy tickets in the Away Section?
Sometimes, but away allocations often have eligibility restrictions. Do not assume that a third-party Away Section ticket will be accepted without the required supporter connection.
What is the difference between a Mobile Ticket and a Dynamic Barcode?
A Mobile Ticket describes the delivery method. A Dynamic Barcode describes a barcode that may refresh or change. Not every mobile ticket uses the same barcode system.
Can I use someone else's MLS club account?
Do not use another person's login, password or verification code. Ticket transfers should be completed through the official account process and according to the club's rules.
Is Verified Resale always official?
Verified Resale is safest when it appears inside the official club account or through a ticketing partner linked directly from the club website. A seller using the words “verified resale” in a private message is not enough.
Does a Parking Pass come with the match ticket?
Not usually. Parking is often sold separately and may apply only to a particular lot, vehicle or arrival window. Check the pass details independently.
Can I buy a ticket from a QR code screenshot?
It is unsafe to rely on a screenshot. The code may be dynamic, cancelled, duplicated or linked to another account. Use the official transfer process instead.
Can international visitors buy MLS home tickets?
Many clubs allow international visitors to purchase eligible home tickets, but payment, identity and account requirements vary. Check the current club instructions and do not assume every section is open to visitors.
When should I book flights and hotels?
After the ticket route and local kick-off time are reliable. If you book earlier, choose flexible flights and cancellable accommodation because MLS fixtures, venue arrangements and weather can affect the itinerary.
Build the trip around a ticket you can verify
Start with the official club page, confirm the mobile delivery process and check the venue before booking flights, parking or hotels.
Editorial note: Ticket delivery, resale, supporter-section access, parking rules and fixture times can change. Always treat the current club, stadium or authorised ticketing partner information as the final authority before paying or travelling.
