in the last weekWe were in Leverkusen for a training course and were looking for accommodation. The KristallHotel Fette Henne had a single room available, and another room was booked as a double room for single occupancy. Both rooms together cost around €225. It was very disconcerting that we had to pay for the rooms before arrival, as we didn't have a credit card. Around 6:00 PM, we received a call asking where we were and that they were waiting for us. The reception was only open until 9:00 PM. When we arrived at 7:10 PM, we were met with impatient staff, and the keys were handed over. When we asked if there was a restaurant nearby, we were simply told that the hotel itself didn't have a restaurant and that the employee wasn't from the area, so he didn't know where we could eat. We found our rooms surprisingly outdated. One room looked like mismatched furniture with a very old, corduroy-like covering. The floors were clean. In the other room, we found the headboard of the bed to be very worn, making it quite uncomfortable to use. There were no sheets in the correct size. Therefore, two sheets had been used to cover the bed in each room. The towels and bed linens themselves appeared clean. When we returned to the hotel at 8:50 p.m., after having eaten at a snack bar, the entire hotel was already dark and locked, and we had to use the night entrance. We found no staff members present. Breakfast on that Sunday didn't start until 7:30 a.m. The breakfast itself was adequate for €14. It had everything one would expect from a basic breakfast. The rolls were simple, pre-baked rolls, and the coffee was too strong for our taste. The beans tasted very bitter/sour. The breakfast attendant was very friendly and helpful. We then returned our key and left the hotel. Since there is another Hotel Fettehenne, we might try the Landhotel again; we will definitely avoid the Kristall Hotel Fettehenne. I would describe the hotel's location as unpleasant!
