in the last weekWorst experience and completely overpriced. The hotel felt extremely old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Even basic amenities were missing from the room. they didn’t even provide Kleenex/tissues, which is something you would expect as a basic standard in any hotel, especially a Fairmont. One of the most shocking issues was the heating. We had to call the front desk because the room was cold. They sent an engineer to check the thermostat, only to tell us, “Oops, we don’t actually have a heating system, but we can bring a portable heater to your room.” Seriously? It’s 2026 and this is a Fairmont hotel with no proper heating system? The elevators were also incredibly old and confusing. You practically had to move back and forth between different elevator doors trying to figure out which one was actually going up. The room itself was disappointing: cheap, thick toilet paper, dirty carpets, and very dim lighting. It honestly felt like they were keeping the room dark so you wouldn’t notice how dirty and outdated everything was. Of course, the minibar was fully stocked — but naturally, everything came at an extra cost. For the price and the Fairmont name, I expected a completely different level of quality, comfort, and cleanliness. Definitely not worth the money.

in the last weekAs a small tradition we have, we choose a Fairmont Hotel for my birthday in different cities and this was Vancouver and it was exceptional as alway. They pay attention to the guest needs and you feel welcome despite being busy. Stayed here From August 14 to 17…

in the last weekI have stayed at several Fairmont properties over the years, including Jasper Park Lodge and the Banff Springs Hotel, and this was by far the best experience I've had at any of them. From the moment we arrived, the team was accommodating, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They were able to check us in early, which is not always possible in the hotel industry, and it made a huge difference while travelling with young children. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. However, the highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by David in Concierge. He went above and beyond to make our visit memorable, and I cannot say enough good things about him. Fairmont is fortunate to have such a dedicated and customer-focused team member representing their brand. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Vancouver, and we will absolutely be staying here again on our next trip.

in the last weekIt is not 5 star. I am shocked this hotel has a fifth star. Surely there’s some money being given to these hotel star givers because this is hardly 5 star. It was a fine 4 star. Multiple things wrong with this hotel which I will summarise as i don’t have time - no airport pick up/ drop off Very dated, a little damp and tired interiors. On our first day we asked to change for one bed instead of two. We assumed this woul be fine as it saves them money giving us 1 instead of 2 beds. They said enthusiastically “yes! Of course we will be happy to upgrade no problem! It’s a higher floor with a great view which you’ll love… that’ll be 80$ a night extra!” …… ehhhh ok don’t offer so enthusiastically and get our hopes up before dropping us with this charge? The cost isn’t the problem, the problem is the principal. Throw us a damn bone. We booked a 4 night stay in a good room, you save money by giving us a room with one less bed, what’s your damn problem not throwing us this room? Paid a good grand and no breakfast included TV super slow and not much channels Bathroom had mold in grouts Terrible shower pressure Pillows C R A P Pool area so bland, not a nice place to chill Overall such a waste of money. No nice place to relax. The hotels in Europe are wayyy better for this cost. Felt really robbed and annoyed about it. Would avoid it honestly.
