in the last weekThe biggest problem we had during our stay were bugs in the room specifically ants. There were ants on the bathroom towels, sink counter tops, and near the shower area. We notified the front desk upon check in and they came up to remove towels. However later in the day there were still ants found in the same areas. A person from the front desk came to the room and sprayed bug spray all over the counter tops. Now with the spray being all over we were unable to use the counter tops with it was soaked in bug spray. It was disappointing that they could not move us to another room since the bug spray didn't work the first time, and just the fact that there was bugs in the room to begin with made us not want to even be in that room. Other than that, the room was dirty, specifically the floors. It was an uncomfortable stay and thank goodness it was only a one night stay. While the staff were friendly and offered us a $100 CAD credit for all of these issues, it still didn't make us satisfied or comfortable staying at the hotel and will likely not be coming back in the future. Unfortunately all that will happen is someone will reply to this message saying sorry, but it wont fix the issues that have already occurred.

2 weeks agoWe stayed at the Victorian Hotel for our last night in Vancouver. As a restored Victorian building, the interior and rooms were modernized but there are still a lot of charming touches to be found here. Our room was on the smaller side but we didn't feel overly cramped. The exposed brick wall, light fixtures, crown moulding, and exposed radiator gave this room a NY walkup vibe. We did notice an intermittent low hum in the room throughout the night. I'm not sure what it was, but it could have come from the air conditioning unit. We also realized that we didn't have any hot water, but that was quickly solved with a call to reception. The hotel is within walking distance to all amenities and a short stroll to the waterfront. If you're looking for a central location, Victorian Hotel is a good option.
