in the last weekI had a fantastic experience at San Laurel. I was meeting up with five other people I hadn't met before and arrived a little early, so I started at the bar. I had an excellent espresso martini made by a bartender who was apparently making a guest appearance that evening. The other two bartenders were equally great--friendly, entertaining, and incredibly helpful. I wish I could remember everyone's names because they definitely deserve the recognition. Once the rest of the group arrived, we sat outside with a beautiful view of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We decided to do the chef's selection, which turned out to be a perfect choice for a group and gave us the chance to try a lot of the menu. We also had some excellent drinks along the way. There were a lot of standouts, but some of my favorites were the Seared Hokkaido Scallops, the cod, the "Meat and Potatoes" bone-in ribeye, the Fennel Soup, and the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota Cinco Jotas. The Rack of Lamb was also excellent, and the Spanish Flan was probably my favorite way to finish the meal. The service throughout the entire evening was excellent, the outdoor setting and view were beautiful, and the ambiance was exactly what you'd hope for from a restaurant like this. Great food, great drinks, great service, and an incredible setting. The company was the best part, but San Laurel gave us a pretty perfect place to enjoy it.

a week agoDelightful treat and worth every cent. Picture perfect food and taste, amicability, service and the view was spectacular. A must restaurant to visit in Los Angeles as it is very close to many museums and art venues. Loved it!!!
