Zane, the host, provided outstanding service by going above and beyond to accommodate a young child, creating a welcoming experience for families.

a week agowent with my partner after a tiff screening. the food was on the pricier side but excellent, especially the aburi sushi and the carrot cake, which disappeared immediately. there was an extremely loud event happening on one side of the restaurant so we couldn't help but rush through our meal, however the service did not falter even though it was busy. the kyoto old fashioned cocktail was great and the bar area is beautiful!

a week agoCame here for my birthday recently. Didnt tell anyone it was my bday, no one asked either which was okay I just wanted to have a good dinner. We don’t eat sushi so we chose the other things on the menu. The place was beautiful it was near closing time so they were kind of half empty on a Sunday. Bf chose this cuz of the overwhelming number of reviews and it was rated high too. Unfortunately it didn’t taste good. To note, it might’ve been our fault, we didn’t realize the calamari and mushroom app had vinegar included in it written menu. One was worded in a Japanese term for vinegar. So it was genuinely our mistake we didn’t search things up, didn’t expect the sour taste. I’m also no expert but I choked on a calamari - it was squid skin?? seen on the second pic. It was very long, no I couldn’t bite it off because it was half way down my throat and I was trying to eat the rest of the calamari that was so long. Soggy bottom cuz of the sauce, batter was soft it could’ve been fried more. The sukiyaki was okay. Had 1 wagyu skewer, wasn’t worth. We’ve been to SO many Japanese restaurants in Toronto, was just in Japan in Feb. We wanted to look for new Japanese places because I have a lil food blog page on ig and decided not to put this there. The waiter looked like he knew food was not gona be good either. It wasn’t his fault. He looked tired. We didn’t say anything to him. Long story short, it wasn’t good, we hate leaving food but we rly didn’t like it and had left overs. Didn’t take it home and just left as soon as we could. Had to get some McDonald’s after this. Even though this might be a sushi restaurant, I think it’s important to still focus on the rest of the menu. It was just our fault for coming to one and not ordering sushi.

a week agoThe atmosphere was lacking charm; it felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant.

a week agoI had high hopes, but the meal didn't live up to my expectations. Just really average.
