in the last weekHotel is in the heart of Granville Street. Unfortunately they are next to a disco. Our first night was a Saturday and there was nonstop music, drums, bass from 9:30 p.m to 4:30 a.m. We were using noise canceling earbuds with soft music and that wasn't good enough. The second night we used a sound bar to play loud sounds of rain to cancel out the disco, plus the earbuds. I wasn't aware of any music the second night. The rooms were clean, had plenty of cups and coffee, both regular and decaf. The windows had blackout blinds. The laundry room was clean. A sign said it wasn't maintained by management. However I saw one of the maids wiping down the machines. It was $3 to wash, $3 to dry. They sell soap for $2 and dryer static cling sheets for $2, so one complete load cost $10. I was able to do two loads while we were there and never had any competition for the machines. Staff was very helpful at the hotel. There were what seemed an excessive number of homeless people on the street. We didn't feel threatened but it wasn't a pleasant environment. Some smell of urine on the street. It was a half hour walk to the cruiseport. We got a free shuttle to Capilano Suspension bridge from there.

in the last weekLocated right over a nightclub. Do not stay here any day the nightclub is open, you won't get to sleep until 3am. Earplugs don't help. Your room shakes. I've read some reviews here and the manager states something to the effect of "We're located in the middle of the nightlife district." I've stayed in two other hotels in this area, and they were fine. Issue of earplugs and I slept like a baby. The issue isn't outside the hotel, it's attached to it. The problem is the nightclub (for me), not any street noise (though the windows don't keep any sound out either). Ear plugs took care of the sound outside, but not even noise cancelling headphones with ambient sounds could defend against the vibrating foundation of the whole building. Stay elsewhere. They'll also charge you $300 a night, but at least you'll be able to sleep.
