We went to "Leib und Seele" as a family this evening and didn't regret our visit at all: from the super friendly and funny service to the delicious food — we had chicken schnitzel and Bremer Knipp (a real insider tip!) — it was simply really good!!!
The attempt to recapture the spirit of the former Schröters Leib und Seele has, in my opinion, failed.
The salad was drowned in a rather unappetizing dressing, both with the appetizer and the main course.
Despite complaining about the appetizer, which was promptly rectified, the same sauce that had been used for the appetizer was served again with the main course... perhaps there's a communication problem between the waitstaff and the kitchen.
Since they use pre-made products, this should be mentioned on the menu. It would also be nice if these products were actually tasty, which unfortunately wasn't the case here; they were simply inedible.
It's a real shame; I was really looking forward to it, but if you're familiar with the excellent cuisine of Schröters, then there's a world of difference now.
We used to eat at the old Schröter's often and are now very pleased that the tradition is being continued. The service was pleasant and attentive, the food arrived quickly and was excellent. We had the three-course lunch menu, which included a delicious cream of chanterelle soup, an antipasti platter, a chanterelle pan with chicken, and a choice of four different desserts. I've rarely had such a good crème fraîche!
