Como S. Giovanni: Your Gateway to Milan and Beyond

Como S. Giovanni is a practical and well-connected train station in Como, serving tourists, daily commuters, and cross-border travelers arriving in one of northern Italy’s most appealing destinations. Its central rail connection makes it an excellent starting point for exploring Milan, the surrounding Province of Como, and the wider Lombardy region.

Travelers can find helpful assistance at the ticket counter, making it easier to choose the right fare and understand the available services. The route to Milan takes approximately 40 minutes, offering a convenient option for day trips, business travel, and onward connections. Families may also find the station useful, with child fares available on selected journeys. For passengers looking for extra comfort or a better chance of finding a seat, first-class tickets are an option worth considering, particularly during busier periods.

One important detail for first-time visitors is ticket validation. Before boarding, check your ticket in the small green validation box located in a less prominent corner of the main hall. Taking care of this step in advance helps keep the journey smooth and avoids unnecessary uncertainty on the platform. With its steady flow of local and international passengers, Como S. Giovanni captures the energy of Como as a meeting point between lake tourism, city travel, and everyday rail life. Whether you are heading toward Milan or arriving to discover the lake, this rail connection to Milan provides a straightforward and useful travel hub.

Describing the comings and goings of tourists and commuters, even cross-border commuters, is indescribable. You have to come to Como by train to understand it.

Very helpful at the counter to get the tickets. To Milan €5.00 for adults and € 2.60 for kids. You need to verify the ticket before boarding in a little green box tucked away in a corner in the main hall. The journey takes 40 mins and has also got first class. This ticket is 7.50 and probably worth the price to make sure you have a seat if you are tired.
