Seattle, Washington King Street Station stands out as one of the city’s most memorable train stations, blending historic architecture with a calm, welcoming feel. Located in downtown Seattle, it’s a favorite for travelers who appreciate a station with character, spacious seating, and a beautifully restored interior. a week agoIf you love beautiful old buildings, you'll want to take a second to look up when you walk into the main lobby. The architecture is gorgeous—it’s done in a grand, early-1900s style called Beaux-Arts. Basically, it looks like an ancient Roman palace inside, featuring huge white ceilings with deep square patterns and columns topped with fancy leaf carvings (known as Corinthian style). The polished floors and bright walls make the whole place feel super open and majestic. The station itself is really functional: Plenty of seating: Lots of classic wooden benches downstairs to hang out on while you wait.Easy tracking: Clear information panels keep you updated on all the train and bus statuses. Food/Drink: There’s a cafeteria on-site that sells coffee and snacks, but the hours can be a bit random. It was closed when I went by on a Thursday afternoon around 3 PM, so don't count on it for a late afternoon pick-me-up Restrooms: The main downstairs washrooms were clean and totally fine.Pro-tip: Head upstairs to check out the art exhibition! Not only is the art a great way to kill some time, but the upstairs area has even cleaner, quieter washrooms.
