a week agoI have stopped at this hotel twice before this visit and in total booked 7 rooms (group bookings). It's location is great for motorcycle trips and the underground parking is a bonus.. This stay it felt different, the hotel didn't seem welcoming and this may have been the way it started..... Firstly they could not find my booking, didn't ask how to spell my name or try to help, just said there's no booking.... I found my reservation email and he confirmed there was a booking and he spelt my name incorrectly, great way to stress the evening... Then when I went to the room, the room had not been cleaned, there was dirty glasses on the side and the bed looking like someone had just got out of it. Reported the issue to reception and got the feeling it was my fault to cause the inconvenience to the staff.. All I van say I have spent a smallnfortune with this hotel and sadly this will be the last time I visit. I will be looking for another hotel in the area for future visits...

2 weeks agoI've been coming to this area for business for three weeks every month for several years now, and I've always stayed at a hotel I was very happy with. Since it was fully booked this time, I booked a room at this hotel for two weeks instead. When I arrived to check in, the young, blonde woman at reception was extremely unfriendly. Her tone was so stern and dismissive that I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. I had arrived a little earlier than the official check-in time. I simply wanted to drop off my bags and suitcase, freshen up a bit, and then go straight to work, as I had a long journey. I was told in a very curt tone that this was absolutely out of the question. Her demeanor and overall behavior were so unpleasant and disrespectful that I didn't want to stay there another minute. I took my suitcases back, immediately canceled my two-week reservation, and went to a different hotel. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. The reception here is extremely poor and unfriendly.

2 weeks agoWe stayed at the Vienna House for a few days last week and felt very comfortable there. It's actually a bit difficult to find from the outside. We even walked right past it twice, as the hotel entrance is hard to spot. The entrance door is located directly next to the Tedy shop window, and the hotel name is written quite small on the door and the "cube" above it. Once inside, however, we immediately felt at home. The decor is modern and youthful, and everything was clean. The reception is staffed 24/7. The staff were all very friendly and immediately helpful with any questions or requests. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection, with something for everyone. The rolls, presumably pre-baked, weren't the best, but they were okay! Our room was small, but also very clean and cozy. The only drawback in the room was the lack of a towel rack. Otherwise, everything you could need was provided, even a safe. ... If we'd had one wish, a small refrigerator in the room would have been a real treat. All in all, we had a wonderful time in Dortmund and felt very comfortable!
