The Hotel Castro was filled with surprise and delight moments. It has all the amenities you need and many you didn’t know you needed until now - like using refillable glass bottles at their purified water station instead of adding more disposable plastic into the world. It is in the most ideal and walkable location. From their rooftop deck and Libby bar to the beautiful grocery store right across the street to the incredibly historic neighborhood - this self-controlled experience is one for the books. While I never saw the staff, I communicated with them via text nonstop. There was no doorman, but the codes always worked. There was no daily housekeeping, but there was always a maid around to get more towels. (I didn’t need any!) and did I mention the room had a balcony you could step out on and people watch, scan the history of 18th, and just kind of feel like you’re in the center of one of the most culturally rich neighborhoods in the world.

Excellent location, comfortable modern and clean rooms - so glad we chose to stay here. The balcony was such a bonus and added so much. Plus the stunning rooftop and views.

Unbeatable location! So close to all the fun and charm of the Castro but still on a quiet block. Really close to the metro and other mass transit too. The “virtual front desk” concept was new to me but the instructions were clear and intuitive. Branding and style were on point, many thoughtful touches made us feel welcome. Great balcony and comfortable beds. Would absolutely book again.
